I was curious how the wax coating would feel, and it's got a nice, almost velvety smoothness that contrasts well with the brushed grain underneath. Looking forward to watching the patina develop over the next few months.

The brushed grain has a subtle texture you can actually feel, and it's already darkening slightly where I handle it most. Nice that I can just reapply wax whenever I want to slow that down.

I've had this on my desk for a few weeks and the patina is already starting to deepen in the spots I touch most, which is exactly what I wanted from a living finish. The wax topcoat feels subtle, not greasy, and I like knowing I can reapply it down the road.
